Balance due: We
sent an email last week to every individual who had a balance due as
of 5/5/08. We are providing a Grace Period until 5/12/08.
Unless you registered after April 15, anyone with a balance due on
5/12/08 will be charged a late fee. ID picture: We sent today an email to everyone who has not sent their ID picture. We reminded them that they need to send their picture prior to June 1. Otherwise they will have to pay $5 in Spain to have their ID done. The picture must be sent electronically. |

MAY NEWS Please read this newsletter. Note: Unless stated otherwise below, you will not be able to make any changes to your reservation after June 1. Therefore, please make sure you have selected the tours, courses, and accommodations you desire. Airline Information. It is your responsibility to make sure that the airline information is correct. Please review the information on our web site at http://www.foreignstudy.com/Airline.htm for all airline procedures. We extended the period on which you could make changes to your airline reservation until May10th. In order to process our groups in a timely manner, the airline does not allow us to make changes to the reservations after May 10. If you want to change your return date, you will not be able to do so until we arrive in Spain. Please check the name on your statement. The name on your statement should be the same as the one in your passport. Courses. If you have selected your courses and the courses appear on your statement , you are registered in the courses. However, if you have not selected your courses, please do so now. Note below that there are courses already full. For information about books, visit our web site. Courses M1121, M2201, A2241, and A3240 are Closed. Dorm Residents. · Madrid Programs only. The Mara is the main residence in Madrid. There will be a second residence used primarily for the Short Program participants and a few others until July 12. We will send information about this residence to the participants who will be staying there a few weeks prior to departure. · Salamanca Program only. The Centro Universitario Marista is the main residence in Salamanca. There will be another residence used. We will send information about this residence to the participants who will be staying there a few weeks prior to departure. ID photo (Madrid Program only). Your ID photo is required to enter the dorm’s dining room and for the optional tours. If we do not have your picture, then we will not be able to issue your ID card and the dorm personnel may not allow you to enter the dining room. You will not be able to participate in the optional tours without an ID – your ID is your ticket. Therefore, if you have not sent your picture, please send it now. We needed by June 1. If we receive your picture after June 1st, your ID card will be issued in Spain and you will have to pay $5. You need to send your picture electronically. Optional Tours. · Madrid Programs: The Barcelona excursion is full. We still have openings for the Lisbon excursion. If you are interested in the Lisbon excursions or any of our other tours, please sign up now. · Salamanca Programs: The Andalucia excursion is full. You are allowed to cancel/change/add tours prior to June 1st. After June 1st, there WILL NOT be any refund for unused tours or cancellations. There are no exceptions. Please note that tours/excursions are not transferable. City tours and museum visits are not sold individually. A note about our itinerary of cultural activities: Our programs provide the opportunity to see some of the most important places, museums, and monuments in Spain. We offer a full itinerary with plenty of free time to explore on your own. We follow the itineraries of the tour operators. In most cases, are tours are longer. However, some of you may find the schedule too much and others not enough. Most will enjoy the opportunity to see Spain to the fullest. In any event, unless you are participating in the short programs, please remember that the package of city tours, museum visits, and excursions are optional. Prepare trip. We suggest you periodically visit our web site for information regarding the programs and Spain. The section “Prepare Trip” has information regarding packing, electricity, money, and other tips. It also has the latest updates and news about the programs and links to download information about the places you will visit while away from the main study location. 6 Week Program Participants: You are not allowed any more changes and your balance must be paid in full. If you still have a balance due, please see “Balance Due” below. Reminders & Final Instructions We will send you the Final Instructions, 2 luggage tags, and your eticket information by mail 2 weeks prior to departure to the address in your statement. These "Final Instructions" will be posted our web site as well. Balance due. Everyone must have their balances paid in full 35 days prior to departure. · If the balance is due to an optional item and you have not paid it 35 days prior to departure, we will cancel it. · If you have only paid your initial installment, we will not be able to issue your airline ticket and we will cancel your reservation and issue a refund in accordance to our policy. · If you have problems in making your final payment, please send us an email providing as much information as possible regarding your problem. We will contact you either thru email or telephone. · If you have a balance due on May 12th., you will be assessed the late fee of $50. There will be no exceptions. |
