July 06 - Segovia and Avila.(local guide)

  • 09:00 Depart  for Segovia. Segovia is an ancient Roman city. One of its most important monuments is the Aqueduct that dates back to Roman times.

July 20 - Escorial (local guide), Valley of the Fallen

  • 09:00 Depart for Escorial from Colegio Mayor Maristas.

  • 10:00 Stop on the outskirts of Avila to take pictures and see this magnificent example of a Roman walled city and one of the most

    representative cities of Spanish mysticism. Continue for Escorial.

  • 11:00 Arrival at El Escorial.  Entrance and Local guide to see the Monastery of El Escorial, a magnificent building built by Felipe II to commemorate his victory against the King of France.

  • 13:30 Depart for Valley of the Fallen.

  • 14:00 Arrival at Valley of the Fallen. Free time for lunch and to visit this magnificent building built in memory of the ones who died during the Spanish Civil War.

  • 16:00 Depart for Salamanca.

July 27 Paris city tour.

Panoramic tour of this magnificent city takes you to such places as Arc de Triomphe, Invalides, Trocadero, Tour Eiffel, Champs-Elysees, Musee de Louvre, and other streets and monuments that make this city one of the most beautiful in the world.

  • 09:30      Board buses and depart from hotel.
  • 13:00      Return to the hotel.

July 28 Paris: Seine River Cruise.  Tickets are provided to take the cruise at leisure.

EXCURSION:  Lisbon July 12 - 15 ($380)

Day 1: Board buses at 8:15 a.m.  Depart for Lisbon at 8:30 a.m.  Stop in Mérida for lunch (on your own) and visit the Roman ruins (on your own) there.  Mérida was the capital of Lusitania during Roman times, and it is now one of the best preserved Roman ruins in the world.  Continue on to Lisbon.  Arrival around 18:00.  Lodging at Hotel.  Rest of the evening free.

Day 2: Breakfast.  Board buses at 9:00 a.m. for tour of Lisbon with professional tour guide.  Lisbon was founded by the Phoenicians and is one of the largest ports in importance in Western Europe.  Some places included in the tour are: the Christian and the Arab neighborhoods which survived the tremendous earthquake (1755)  that almost destroyed the city, St. George's Castle, and below it, the Alfama neighborhood, the Monument to the Discoverers, honoring the sea explorers who made Portugal a world power in the 1500s,  the Maritime Museum, Praca do Comercio and the Rocio.  After the city tour enjoy the rest of the day sightseeing and/or shopping in the Campo de Santa Clara's flee market known as the feira da Ladra.  Other interesting sights are Belem to the west of the city, including the famous Torre de Belem, alongside the Tagus river and the Mosterio dos Geronimos, started in 1501.

Day 3: Breakfast.  Board buses at 9:00 a.m. for trip to Cascais.  This town has evolved from an original fishing village during its early history to the present working international community and the "younger set" who enjoy the diverse and sophisticated nightlife.  Just outside the town is the famous Boca do Inferno in which the sea on rougher days hammers into the rock and creates a booming noise and a spectacular spray thus creating its name which means in English "mouth of hell". 

Day 4: Breakfast.  Board buses at 8:45 a.m. and depart at 9:00 a.m.  Arrival around 18:00 in Madrid.
